Our ballasts are available in various models with different output power, ranging from 3,0 kW to 68,9 kW.
Thanks to this wide range of output power our ballast provide the highest quality and value and they can be used in demanding applications. There are two different ballasts power configurations:
HPE long-standing expertise and its know-how, honed over the years, has led to the design and manufacturing of the new SERIES R. For all SERIES R ballasts the cooling section has been dramatically redesigned and it now has an air flow channelling system equipped with ducts that conveys the cooling airflow to the hot areas only and in a targeted manner. Thanks to this ducting system it was possible to create some completely sealed and insulated areas where electronic components can be placed, so that these are protected from any external conditions and factors in the surrounding working area that may jeopardize their life cycle. The fan unit is positioned at the rear of the machine and it consists of a set of 24 Vdc fans powered by an internal source. The airflow passes through the ballast along its longitudinal axis and the direction of the airflow can be chosen between the following versions available when ordering the equipment: Version F, t.i. FORWARD, with the fans pushing air into the machine, and Version B, t.i. BACKWARD, with the fans pulling air out of the machine.
Electrical layouts available:
For all configurations the connection to any automation systems, compatibly with the SERIES H, is possible by means of two RJ45 connectors for ModBus-RTU connection, and two connectors for “Can HPE” net.
In line with HPE company policy, the supply voltage of the main circuit and the supply voltage of the auxiliary circuits are kept separate, as the supply voltage of the auxiliary circuits must never be turned off (disconnected) to ensure that the protection circuits are always active.
All the R SERIES ballasts, with the same power and size, are compatible with the previous H SERIES, also in terms of dimensions and overall dimensions.
Our ballasts are also available in the COMBO version: these ballast are specifically designed for the switching on of traditional UV lamps as well as of our UV LEDs.
The on-board software, fully developed by HPE, continuously monitors all the functions of the LED and it also provides comprehensive diagnostic functions with regard to the LED or to the lamp connected.
The alarm system immediately sends an alarm message in case of faults or malfunctions.
Unlike the most common converters/power supply units available on the market that simply regulate current and voltage, HPE systems allow to:
Monitor all the physical parameters of the lamps (voltage, overvoltage, temperature, ageing and faults)
Manage the whole drying system, by monitoring the housing group and the cooling process of the lamp
Analyse the efficiency of the system and send alarm messages to ensure correct functioning of the UV unit
Operate in a specific and univocal way, if they are integrated as slave in a hierarchically superior system
