HPE designs and develops UV LED curing systems to polymerize and to dry UV-based products such as inks, varnishes, resins and adhesives in industrial processes when it is required to achieve high levels of productivity. The constant advancement in LED lighting technologies, in particular COB (Chip on Board) technology, allows to achieve a highly selective and powerful emission of monochromatic radiation. The HPE COB 2203 has dimension of 60 mm (linear) x 24 mm and is composed of 24 LEDs. Each COB is equipped with a focal lens that integrates 4 chips inside and it can be ordered with two different radiation angles: 45° and 60°. The lens at 45° allows to have a higher peak at the same distance than the lens with the 60° angle (45° is recommended for distances greater than 30 mm).
The spectrum of UV LED depends on the type of doping of the semiconductor materials. Unlike arc lamps, LEDs emit a single wavelength, though extremely intense. Wavelengths available are: 365 – 385 – 395 – 405 nm – 420 nm. There is no emission covering the range of infrared radiation and UVB/UVC except for the 365 which has a small emission that falls in the UVB.
The MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) of each LED chip in ideal conditions (Tj < 80°) exceeds 20,000 hours of operation. The loss of efficiency is below 20% (Tj=70°) after about 14,000 hours of use.
The 2203 series LEDs are available in different wavelengths, from 365 nm to 420 nm. We provide different curing widths from 120 mm to 2400 mm (multiples of 60 mm), to best suit any installation. The heat generated by the semiconductor material is effectively dispersed through a fluid cooling system, thus ensuring the highest irradiance and the dissipation of excess heat. The system consists of a pressurized cooling circuit that cools the semiconductors and it is managed by the software that controls the thermal condition of the LED by means of temperature sensors present in each COB. In order to ensure the right fluid temperature, the software can regulate the solenoid valves specifically placed in the liquid circuit that is installed between the cooling chiller and the LED lamp. In addition, it is possible to choose the position of the electrical connections and the position of the cooling water inlet/outlet, they can be positioned as described below:
Water in/out and plug
on the same side
Water in/out and plug
on the opposite side
Water in/out and plug
on the opposite edges in the upright position
The profile height of the LED bar is selectable at the time of ordering in the two sizes of 80 mm and 108 mm. This makes it possible to adapt our LEDs to already installed machines in which you want to replace conventional lamps with our LEDs

Our lamp management system allows you to switch between traditional UV and UV LED lamps automatically:
in fact, the ballast recognizes the output to be powered.
The operator (printer) only has to insert the interchangeable cassette of choice.

For each model it is possible to have a single output that can be used for both traditional UV lamps and UV LED lamps.
